Name Anna Maria SIEKIERA
SSD Humanities, Linguistics, History
Research Interests  Her main research studies focus on the diverse areas in the History of Italian Language in the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries. These are based on manuscripts, incunabula and sixteenth century texts — from private letters, vernacular translations and treaties from different thematical areas to describe linguistic phenomena, such as sixteenth century Florentine language as well as various aspects of culture. The latter is reflected in the formation of both artistic and scientific language (including music, theatre, poetry and art history) as well as in textual construction of scientific texts (Benedetto Varchi’s academic lessons) and divulgativi (books of Antichità di Roma). Her publications include Tradurre per musica (Paris, “Belles Lettres” 2000), edition of Descrittione del Palazzo ducale d’Urbino di Bernardino Baldi (Alessandria, 2010).  She twice served as head of the research unit studying Literature in the Visual Arts: PRIN 2006 (Literature on the Visual Arts: Architecture, XIV-XVII centuries); PRIN 2008 (The Florentine Historiography between local identity and rediscovery of the Rome’s myth: writings on art and language).
